The Nissan C80 was introduced in 1966 to fill a gap in the Nissan truck model range, between the 2 ton capacity Nissan Caball and the 5 ton Nissan 680.
he Nissan C80 is a cab forward truck, with the engine mounted beneath the seats. The C80 features a full width grille that incorporates the quad headlights. Above the grille there is an outward-opening vent flap to supply fresh air to the cabin. Above that there is a large wings shaped badge with a large N in the centre and Nissan below that. The badges on the doors say 3.5ton.
The Nissan C80 was available with two engines, either a petrol of diesel. The petrol engine was the H30, which was a 2974cc OHV 6 cylinder engine that produced 120hp. This is the same engine that was used in the base model Nissan President limousine. The other engine was the SD33, which was a 3246cc 6 cylinder diesel that produced 98hp.
No significant changes were made to the Nissan C80 during it's production run, and it was sold well into the 1970s.
