The Datsun 6147 was the last vehicle in a line of trucks that began with the Datsun 13T truck back in 1934.
From the outside the Datsun 6147 is pretty much identical to it's predecessor, the 5147. The most significant difference being that the grille now has a red Datsun badge in the middle, and the red badge on the side now says Datsun 25.
The Datsun 25 badge is a reference to it's power output. The previous model featured the old 722cc 20hp side valve engine, but the 6147 received a new engine in the form of the new 860cc 25hp D-10, which was Nissan's first new engine since the war.
The Datsun 6147 continued on in production until the end of 1954. It was replaced in January 1955 by the completely new Datsun 120 truck.
This is the standard truck model.
Introduced at this time was the DU-5 double cab version of the 6147, which was a 4/5 seater body with a short cargo area at the back.
