1953 Prince AISH-2

Mobirise

At first glance the Prince AISH-2 looks identical to its predecessor the AISH-1. Even after staring at them for quite a while you would conclude that, apart from some new full face hubcaps that replaced the smaller one on the -1 model, the cars are the same. Its only when you look at the specifications that you realise where the differences are.

Mobirise

In late 1952 there was a change in legislature in Japan that allowed for the production of slightly larger passenger cars. The Prince engineers took full advantage of this change and expanded the dimensions of the car, adding 59mm to its width and 7mm to its overall height, essentially making a wide body version of the AISH-1. Mechanically it remained largely unchanged, and continued to use the FG4A-10 4 cylinder overhead valve engine, which produced 45hp. The only significant mechanical change was a switch from 16 inch wheels to 15 inch.

The Prince AISH-2 was replaced in November 1954 by the AISH-3.
